The Motorola RAZR2 V9m has been released as a major update to the V3m. Motorola created the V9m to be much thinner than its predecessor, and has upgraded it with a much larger external display equipped with virtual touch keys, a la the iPhone. The internal display has also received an upgrade to a QVGA resolution. Motorola has also upgraded the camera to 2 Mega pixels, and the Bluetooth capabilities have been updated to stereo-quality functionality. Other features such as the music player, EVDO data, memory card slot, and speaker independent voice dialing are features that have been carried over form the previous version of the Motorola RAZR. Even though many of the features of the new Motorola RAZR2 V9m are not unique or original, the phone is still incredibly sleek and stylish and well worth the updates and upgrades.
The battery that is used by the RAZR2 V9m is a 730mAh LiIon cell battery, which offers the RAZR2 roughly 220 minutes of talk time, or just over 12 days of standby time. The main display screen is a 2.2” LCD, which is capable of displaying as many as 65,536 colors at the same time. This is also known as 16-bit color. The RAZR2 V9m comes equipped with 65 Megabytes of internal shared memory, which of course can be upgraded via the included micro SD memory slot (Max 2GB). The secondary display is only slightly smaller than the main screen, at around 2″, and is capable of displaying just as many colors as the main screen, which is 65,536 or 16-bit.
The RAZR2 V9m also sports a micro USB connector, and this means that you no longer need to buy a separate special cable and additional software in order to upload to and download from your cell phone. This is an especially important feature because not everyone has multimedia card reader capabilities on their PC, which can make loading up your micro SD card a real problem. The RAZR2 also bring with it the support for a plethora of different compressed music formats, including but not limited to AAC, AAC+, WMA, and of course, the all-important MP3. The 2-mega-pixel camera is capable of both taking pictures and capturing video.
The RAZR2 V9m may not be an original release, but it is well worth the effort that went into re-releasing this great phone. The RAZR line of cell phones will definitely continue to be a popular line for a good long time.
