Motorola E6 (Easy — or not?)

November 12th, 2007 by Patrick Garde · No Comments

Design

The minimalist framework of Motorola ROKR E6 rings a bell to us since the traditional RAZR lineup is mostly all-black, with easy to-use controls. The E6 utilizes a touch-screen interface. Users, who favor a hardware keypad to thumb, need to find another unit.

If you had trauma with touch-screen phones, need not be afraid. The ROKR E6 features a totally flat surface. The section is under a see-through plastic cover that makes you believe you are tapping on the breezing air. “Touch” should not have been the term to use.

Blackberry 8800 - Making the Difference

November 6th, 2007 by Adam Maywald, Editor · No Comments

Blackberry 8800Blackberry has been known in the world mobile market to produce mind blowing and extremely effective business models. Damn smart and endowed with a plethora of high-tech features and capabilities that any PDA would be proud of, Blackberry 8800 is one handset that is worth a try. It’s a blessing for all the executives and business users who intend to take the work out of their work stations.

Decked with a GPS system, this handset includes the TeleNav software and doubles as a navigator. The same trackball is incorporated in the Blackberry 8800 that is so typical of all the Blackberry gadgets. A little wider and heavier, but a little lighter than the Blackberry Pearl, this ones a looker! The wide and lucid 2.4-inch screen makes for a great display, whereas the QWERTY keyboard gives you the impression of working on a mini computer. One glitch here is that the keypads are quite closely packed giving the keypad a cramped look, but the raised grooves makes up for it.

Sprint cell phone review – Motorola RAZR2 V9m

November 2nd, 2007 by Adam Maywald, Editor · No Comments

The Motorola RAZR2 V9m has been released as a major update to the V3m. Motorola created the V9m to be much thinner than its predecessor, and has upgraded it with a much larger external display equipped with virtual touch keys, a la the iPhone. The internal display has also received an upgrade to a QVGA resolution. Motorola has also upgraded the camera to 2 Mega pixels, and the Bluetooth capabilities have been updated to stereo-quality functionality. Other features such as the music player, EVDO data, memory card slot, and speaker independent voice dialing are features that have been carried over form the previous version of the Motorola RAZR. Even though many of the features of the new Motorola RAZR2 V9m are not unique or original, the phone is still incredibly sleek and stylish and well worth the updates and upgrades.

Sprint Cell Phone Review: Samsung UpStage

November 2nd, 2007 by Adam Maywald, Editor · No Comments

One of the goals of most cell phone manufacturers is to create products which can be used to set new trends, or to steer other cell phone manufacturing companies in a new direction with the creation of their cell phone products. Motorola did this with the StarTAC which started the flip-phone trend, and with the Razr which helped to create the thin-cell phone revolution. Now Samsung has created a new trend by way of the Samsung UpStage SPH-M620 which was created for use with Sprint. Not only is the Samsung Upstage a quality music phone, but it also features a dual-sided design which is invented and has done more than any other music handset to combine mp3 and cell phone ergonomics. Sprint has been the first cell phone carrier to bring the Samsung UpStage to the market.

Sprint Cell Phone Review: MOTO Q

November 2nd, 2007 by Adam Maywald, Editor · No Comments

The Motorola Q has recently lost the spotlight to some newer and perhaps shinier options for cell phones, but the MOTO Q was the original slim cell phone, and is the phone that influenced a lot of the characteristics displayed by the T-Mobile Dash and the Samsung Blackjack. The Motorola Q smart-phone was originally a Verizon only cell phone, but Sprint has recently acquired its own version of the cell phone, and there have been recent rumblings regarding a GSM version of the MOTO Q as well. Sprint’s version of the Motorola Q smart phone is essentially the same as the Verizon version, at least when it comes to core applications, but there are small software enhancements and design enhancements, and naturally there is different carrier content as well.
